How to Travel Better
Because this is what the internet needs, another how to travel better article. ;)
POSITIVE AFFIRMATION
“I’m lucky that I can travel easily.
I know someone who’s ears have a hard time popping, another person who has sinus/headache issues, and then there are those who are just fearful of flying.
I’m thankful for being able to see this world.”
- Johnny T. Nguyen

My family survived another international trip, this time to India. Eight flights in total, with the longest leg being 15+ hours… with a lap infant! Once again, I’m inspired to write about how we can all travel better, more comfortably, and remain productive.
Biological Optimization

Hydration - Planes keep humidity low on purpose, but humans need more. I use Miir products because they also give back to the community. My latest purchases are the 32oz wide-mouth bottle ($40) and a stainless steel cold brew filter insert ($15). I do wonder if those airport water dispensers are actually filtered…
Portable Air Purifier - Unfortunately, India has bad air quality, and wish I had brought one with me. Added to my wishlist is the PureZone Mini Portable Air Purifier ($40).
Stress Reduction & Eye Rejuvenation - I use Therabody Smart Goggles ($200) for my dry eyes and I also hear it helps with migraines. They also offer a more affordable Sleep Mask ($100).
Transit Productivity Enhancement

Backpack - Invest in a great backpack, here are 3 options at different price points. The Osprey Daylite™ Plus Pack ($75), AER Travel Pack 3 ($250), and the Tortuga Backpack Pro 40L ($350).
Headphones - Noise-canceling earbuds with built-in translation capabilities. Any will do I guess, I’ve got the cost-effective, noise-canceling, and transparent mode Beats Studio ($100). In the future, built-in translation capabilities will be awesome.
Technology Integration
Instant Workstation - Enhance your iPad with a Logitech iPad keyboard case (starting at $160) and Crayon ($70)
TAKEAWAY
What’s the worst part of traveling for you? That’s where you should invest some cash and make that aspect more bearable, or maybe even pleasurable. Do that and traveling won’t evoke as many negative emotions.
